I have tried everything to get that created ESA to work in hatch but never succeed. But in Wilcom you can convert a TTF font into an ESA embroidery that comes out better than the TTF font in hatch. In hatch you can use ESA embroidery fonts accurately, or True Type Fonts that don't come out perfectly for embroidery. The ONLY thing I use it for us the font converter. Like split fill, letting you add creases into fill areas ( you typically simulate by butting 2 fill areas together). Wilcom has a few features not present in hatch, specially things you don't typically need. I can open a hatch emb some in Wilcom, but not the other way around. I have literally tested creating the same design in both from scratch and stitching both files to compare. *Not associated with /r/MachineEmbroidery This may be updated at any time, so please stay familiar with the sidebar :) Please report any posts that you feel are inappropriate or break these "rules."
